Nastya Schumann
Photografer from St. Petersburg
Photography isn’t simply capturing an image; it’s a subtle, invisible process of two minds meeting, separated by the lens but united in this strange dance of gaze and light. Here, in the space between camera and person, something greater is born: not just an image, but a reflection of those details, those barely perceptible traits that make up our essence, our secret nature—the very thing hidden from prying eyes.
It’s a chance to see yourself not as you’re accustomed to appearing, but as someone else sees you—and perhaps, for the first time, to discover something new and unexpected about yourself. A still image that, years from now, will remain the key to memories.

I completed my training at the Amlab photography school (Svetlana Tolstaya’s “Artistic Portrait” group).
I collaborate with Musicaeterna, the Osobnyak Theater, Yanina Lakoba, Elena Gvritishvili, Vitaly Polonsky, Nikolai Mazaev, and Kirill Nifontov.
In January 2026, a solo exhibition of works dedicated to the artists of the Musicaeterna choir was held at the House of Radio (St. Petersburg).

- Combining the professions of photographer and musician helps me expand my horizons of perception and more fully convey the depth of a model’s beauty. It’s like speaking another foreign language, enriching and bringing unique meaning to my work

- Not just portraits, but also reportage photography
- To see the important in the moment and convey the inner essence of what’s happening
